Lisa Schwert Pohlschroeder

Founder and Principal

Lisa founded Innate Studio to create spaces that feel considered, cohesive, and deeply livable. With over 15 years of experience spanning architecture, interiors, and real estate, she approaches each project as both strategist and curator—crafting homes that reflect the rhythm, character, and values of the people who live in them.

A licensed architect in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, and certified through NCARB and ASID, Lisa’s background includes senior roles at SHoP Architects and as Head of Design at Douglas Elliman, where she guided the design direction for luxury residential properties across a $28-billion portfolio.

She holds a degree in Psychology from Emory University and a Master of Architecture with honors from the University of Pennsylvania. Based in Connecticut with her husband, two young sons, and a small menagerie of animals, Lisa brings warmth, rigor, and intention to every space she creates.

Our Studio

Innate Studio is intentionally boutique. Our women-led team takes on a limited number of projects each year to ensure every client receives the thoughtful attention, creativity, and high level of care their home deserves. We bring deep, in-house expertise across architecture and interior design and collaborate closely with a trusted network of artisans, engineers, contractors, code consultants, and specialized vendors. These long-standing partnerships allow us to execute each project with exceptional precision, craftsmanship, and integrity. From the first conversation to the final reveal, we are fully invested—guiding you through each step with clarity, intention, and an unwavering attention to detail.
