About the Founder
An architect with a passion for problem-solving and a love of beautiful things – natural materials, antique furniture, the perfect floorplan – Lisa Schwert Pohlschroeder founded Innate Studio to provide a comprehensive and individually tailored design experience at a personal scale. Her unique expertise spanning architecture, real estate, and interior design for over 15 years enables her and her team to offer a seamless process and exceptional support to clients navigating the exciting yet complex challenge of building a new home or transforming an existing one.
Lisa is an NCARB-certified architect licensed to practice in Connecticut and New York and an ASID-certified interior designer. She began her design career as an architect with New York City-based SHoP Architects, where she served in various leadership roles for over 10+ years. Lisa also led the in-house design team at one of the nation's top real estate firms, Douglas Elliman, advising developer clients on a $28 billion luxury residential portfolio. After an illustrious career working on large-scale residential and commercial projects, she decided to take her longtime personal passion for re-imagining homes and turn it into a full-time business by providing comprehensive design services for homeowners.
Lisa has a degree in Psychology from Emory University and earned her Master of Architecture with honors from the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, two sons, two dogs, and three horses.
