About the Project
Set on nearly 13 private acres in Fairfield County, Connecticut, this 1990-built home offers a rare blend of seclusion, natural beauty, and family-centered living. The main house—3,500 square feet with three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms—sits alongside a separate in-law apartment and a charming three-stall horse barn with a guest suite above. Surrounded by woods and meadows, the home is bathed in natural light year-round, thanks to generously sized windows that frame views of the changing seasons. Though the original interiors were outdated and lacked personality, the renovation embraced the home’s connection to nature and the desire for a timeless, cozy, and collected aesthetic. Designed for a young family of four, plus two dogs, with extended family and a menagerie of animals on the property, the layout now includes dedicated workspaces for two work-from-home parents and thoughtful, functional spaces ideal for daily living and frequent gatherings. The final design is grounded in natural materials and a soft, layered palette—with just the right amount of whimsy—offering a peaceful, enduring sense of home.
